Ashli Babbitt and others were attempting to breach a barricaded door inside the Capitol building on January 6 when she was fatally shot in the shoulder.
Former President Donald Trump said he told Ashli Babbitt’s family members “there must be justice” regarding her death. In his statement, he also wrote, “If that happened to the ‘other side,’ there would be riots all over America[.]” In July, Trump issued a four-word press release reading: “Who shot Ashli Babbitt?”
But not even a president had enough political weight to clear this corruption. The officer who shot Ashli Babbitt will face no disciplinary action.
